IoT Roundup: Internet of Thanksgiving Devices

IoT Roundup: Internet of Thanksgiving Devices

By Brandon Curtis Share This Story | |

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well...I guess that technically refers to Christmas so we will call this holiday the second most wonderful time of the year. Around Thanksgiving many people spend time reflecting on the people, events and life changes they are thankful for over the past year. I wanted to take some time to reflect on some consumer IoT devices/products for the kitchen that I am especially thankful for.

I am not the best cook and I usually don't have a ton of time to spend in the kitchen, so I set out on a quest to find the most useful and time saving IoT devices with potential Thanksgiving application -- the Internet of Thanksgiving! -- that can help us spend more time with the family this Thanksgiving and less time keeping an eye on the turkey.

So without further ado here they are: three Internet of Thanksgiving devices to lighten your holiday load.

June Smart Oven

This oven comes in both a countertop and standard oven version. It connects to your smartphone and can be controlled via their June app. This oven monitors the weight and temperature of the food as well as a live video stream! You can finally sit on the couch and watch turkey day football while making sure your food is cooked to perfection. Learn more here.

Netamo Smart Smoke Detector

If you are anything like me, sometimes you get distracted and burn something in the kitchen. (Yes, even with the help of a smart oven.) This is the perfect smoke detector for your home - especially in the kitchen. You can get alerts sent directly to your phone so you can pick up your last minute grocery items worry-free! Learn more here.

Smarter FridgeCam

Some refrigerators have this tech built in but not everyone is ready to spend thousands on a new one - so why not upgrade your existing fridge for around $100? The FridgeCam allows you to view the contents of your fridge from anywhere, track expiration dates and suggest recipes based on the food you already have! Learn more here.
